Important Announcement! Planned System Maintenance 05/24/2012 through 05/29/2012

US QuickBooks Pro for Windows

Planned System Maintenance – The Intuit Small Business Division is performing a planned system-wide upgrade over the Memorial Day holiday in the United States (Thursday, May 24, 2012 at 6 pm PDT and expecting to be back up Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at 5 am PDT).  Consequently, the ability to purchase or register QuickBooks, and access certain online offerings, will be limited over the holiday.This is only for US based products. International versions are unaffected.  We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience while we are upgrading and improving our infrastructure systems to better serve you in the long run.   

During this period, you can purchase QuickBooks Pro, Premier, and Pro for Mac at retail locations, including the following:

Is this going to affect Quickbooks Online, and if so, in what way?  We are still conducting business on Friday 5/25 and it will be a great inconvenience if we cannot access our accounts and our payroll system.

You will be able to use QuickBooks.  If you're a new user, you wouldn't be able to register or purchase QuickBooks during this time.

Ummm... SO NOT TRUE

We cannot process payroll today... Tuesday. A call to payroll services and we are told NO DIRECT DEPOSITS BY THURSDAY --- so I should tell my employees they won't get paid? SERIOUSLY???

We could pay our payroll taxes today using "E-Pay" but not "Create Custom Payroll Liabilities".......??????  We never use E-Pay, so I had to change it to show we were writing a check, then change that to EFW.  We always use "Create Custom Payroll Liabilities" but that feature was showing absolutely NO payroll taxes being due.

We pay more than enough for this program to run the way it SHOULD run at all times.  I, for one, feel we are due a partial refund for these problems.

I'm involved with a major festival this weekend with an expected 18,000 people in attendance over the two day weekend.  We do heavy remote CC transactions.  Will your system maintenance affect our ability to process credit cards through our remote terminals?

Merchant services should be unaffected.  But, it's always a good idea to have a backup plan since you never know what could happen -- power outage, etc. :)

This is not good as I planned to work on invoicing over the weekend. 

I must say your encouragement to have customers respond via this post and not one person answers a question is truly a 'social faux pas.  Social Media is about engagement not ignoring, pretending as if the big pink elephant in the room in drag is not there.   You should have considered how you were going to ‘really’ address concerns—however, I guess since you’ve provided just one day notice to the world of QuickBooks users regarding your shut-down maintenance procedure, I would guess you lack as much concern as you have shown by responding to these posts.

 Get it right Quickbooks - you wont reign supreme...forever--like this.
