Import question on local taxes

Why do PA local taxes on w2 forms not import?  Local taxes were just ignored and we had to do the data entry anyway.

When you say import what do you mean?  If I enter in the W2 and I enter in the local taxes withheld they appear in my PA local tax form.

I am refering to the Tax import add-on in PRoSeries.  You scan your documents, such as W2s into a pdf file and intuit reads them and sends them back to your proseries for download.  We tried one, but the local taxes are ignored from the W2s.  It also did not recognize a substitute Form 1098.

There was a Lacerte update today that fixed it.  Did ProSeries have an uodate today?

I am not sure.  If it was fixed, well at least that is one fom that works.  We tried the program and nothing scans correctly.  This is more work than it is worth.

CMSCPA3:

Hello and thank you for your response, we appreciate your feedback and that you took the time to partner with us to build a better utility.

At this time Tax Import does not support the import of local taxes.  It something that we are attempting to prioritize for a future release.

We apologize if there was a misunderstanding/mis-communication.

Please let us know if there are any questions or concerns.

Sincerely,

Brent Fowler

Hi Brent,

Well the idea is for this product to import all informtion from the forms.  If it cannot do that, then I may as well put it in myself and don't need the product.  We scanned two w-2 forms and a substitute 1099.  None of the scanned properly.  One W-2 form would not import local wages, the other would not convert at all, and the 1099 would not convert.

We are canceling the product.  I don't have time for this.

Thanks

Malcolm
