I paid sales tax for last quarter, but Quickbooks is new.

US QuickBooks Pro for Windows : 2012

I just bought Quickbooks Pro.  I paid last quarter's sales tax.  This is information that was not in Quickbooks. 

How would I account that check to the state sales tax, without entering in last quarters data?

The solution

Hi techyguy717,

Since you are not recording all of last Quarter Sales Tax in QB, you will not be using the Sales Tax feature.  So, this would be Sales Tax as an Expense.
