Important Announcement! A planned system-wide upgrade will take place over the Memorial Day Weekend in the US (From Thurs, May 24, 2012 at 6 pm PDT thru Tues, May 29, 2012 at 5 am PDT). This includes QuickBooks, QuickBooks Payroll, Point of Sale, & Salesforce.com. This is only for US based products. This does not affect QuickBooks Online customers! During this time, you can shop, but can’t place orders online, activate products or update account info. We apologize for the inconvenience & thank you for patience while we improve our infrastructure to better serve you. International versions are unaffected. For more info, see our community discussion.

I need to run a special payroll

US Desktop Payroll : Enhanced 2009

I need to run a special payroll. It is complicated as to how this came to be but is there a way to enter the payroll without including currently posted hours. It is like running separate bonus checks but I want taxes to be taken out.

Hi StarrB!

You can run a separate payroll at any time. If you use payroll schedules, you will want to choose "Unscheduled Payroll". Otherwise just choose "Pay Employees". Then you can change the dates as needed and add, delete or change the checks accordingly. If you use timesheets to fill in hours worked on checks, the hours will flow to these special checks, but you can remove this info on each paycheck detail as needed. The hours will remain in the system and can be used on your next actual payroll run.

If this answers your question, please mark this post as "Solved." If not, please post additional questions. Please help me improve my performance by answering a short survey that will be emailed to you from the community.
