When I do a sales receipt I then click on Deposits. I enter the deposit related to the sales receipt and client. It then shows up in my chequing account as "undeposited". Since I only do this once it has been actually deposited I would like to change it so it reads dep. What am I missing here? Thanks in advance.
Not sure which field reads "Undeposited", but could it be that this shows where the funds came from?
Hi Safari, In the bank account register it shows up in the third column from the left below the clients name field.
Date/DEP/client's name .. below this it states Undeposited. I am including a screen shot so hopefully you can view what I am seeing. Thanks.
That is correct.
The deposit was made from the Undeposited Funds account.
Go to Edit>Preferences>Customers & Sales>Company Preferences.
There are some choices about receiving payments. Right now, your "use Undeposited Funds as a default deposit to account" is probably checked off.
Undeposited funds gives you a place to collect payments so that you can make a deposit composed of a number of them. If you make every customer payment separately, you could uncheck that box. Then you can choose to deposit the payment directly to the bank account without going through undeposited funds.
