I have two versions of QB, each with different companies in them. I cannot open company files, and not even sample company files in either version. What is going on?

US QuickBooks Pro for Windows

I have two versions of QB, each with different companies in them. Neither version is allowing me to access my company files or the sample files. They are both saying these files cannot be found. What is going on?

in windows, search for .qbw files.  when you find the files you want, right click and open using the appropriate version of QB.
