how to take out tax's

Thank you for the post. I can understand the frustration that this out of memory error may cause. Lets see if we can fix this. What we need to do is search your system for a file and then rename it. Once we have done that this should resolve the issue. I will list the steps below.
1. With QuickBooks closed Click Start>Search>For Files or Folders
2. Next select "All Files and Folders"
3. On the new screen click on "More advanced options"
4. Place a check mark in "Search System Folders" and Search Hidden files and folders"
5. Now type in qbprint.qbp and click search
6. You should be able to locate the qbprint.qbp file once it is located rename it to qbprint.old. *do not delete the file* One note you will need to reset any custom print settings once you rename this file.
7. Close any open windows and launch QuickBooks. Test to see you get the error message.
As for how to take out taxes, the best suggestion I can give is to have you check with an accountant or Pro-Advisor in your area to ensure you are in compliance with the IRS.  I hope this helps.

i have renamed the file and now i got a few reports to list but when i put the little magnifier glass over some fields and try to view it i get the same not enough memory message...
please advise...

Can you right click on the QuickBooks icon, choose properties and then click the "Compatibility Mode" tab. See if you are running in a compatibility mode, if you are uncheck the option and and try to run the reports again.

it is in compatable mode now, if i uncheck it and run i get an error that says runtime error program has terminated in an unusual way file is qbw32.exe

That explains why you have the out of memory when running the reports. Can you post back with the exact runtime error message? We could also use the OS version, Was this an upgrade of a prior version? Let's look into this and see if we can correct this runtime error so we can get you up and running.

says error in qbw32.exe this program has requested to terminate in an unusual way..

thats all it says and i am using windows vista home edition and it is a new pc...

when i got quickbooks and installed it it worked fine, then it installed the update and i got the runtime error that is why i am running in compatable mode now..

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you on this. What I would suggest is going into the control panel>Add/Remove Programs. Locate the Simple Start listing and select it it. We then want to click the modify button. This should give us an option to repair the QuickBooks installation. I would go through this process to see if this resolves the problem. If it does not then we may need to uninstall the application and resinstall.

Ok so what we are going to need to do is uninstall QB and reinstall the application. There are some steps that need to be followed to make sure we can get a good clean install.  I will list the steps below.
1. Make a back up of your data file to a new location. **Do not back up over any existing backups**
2. Copy this back up to an external media, CD or flash drive.
3. Next go to here to go to QuickBooks.com to download the latest product update. Save this update to your desktop so you can locate later.
4. Uninstall QuickBooks using the Add/Remove Program applet in the Control Panel.
5. Locate and rename the following folders. **Do not delete these folders rename only**
** Some folders may be hidden so you will need to set the preference to show "Hidden files and folders" with in windows.**

•    C:Program FilesIntuitQuickBooks 2007 rename the QuickBooks 2007 folder to Quickbooks 2007 old.


•    C:Program filesCommon filesIntuit   **If you have no other Inuit programs installed rename the Intuit folder to Intuitold** If you have other Intuit products installed rename this list of folders
  


                               1. Database server to database server old
                               2. QuickBooks to QuickBooks old.


• C:Documents and SettingsAll UsersApplication DataIntuitQuickBooks 2007 rename QuickBooks 2007 to QuickBooks 2007 old.
  


• C:Documents and Settings"User name"Application DataIntuit  **If you have no other Inuit programs installed rename the Intuit folder to Intuitold** If you have other Intuit products installed rename this list of folders.


                               1. QuickBooks Product Listing Service to QuickBooks Product listing Service Old
                               2. Shipping Manager to Shipping Manager Old
                               3. UPS Shipping Manager to UPS Shipping Manager Old.
6. Once this is done reboot the system. "Not really a important step but I prefer to do this so we are working from a clean state.
7. Disable your firewall if you have one.
8. Disable your A/V software if you have any. **Many applications have you do this to prevent your A/V and firewall from blocking components of the programs from installing correctly. Feel free to disconnect from the network or internet while doing these steps.** If these two steps or not done we may run into the same issue.
9. Once this is done lets reinstall QuickBooks.
10 When the installation is complete do not open QuickBooks. Locate the Program update that should be on your desktop and double click to run. Let the update process complete.
11. Once this is done open QuickBooks and select a sample company file to open. We have included one with the program. Once this is open see if you can run the report. **make sure we are not running in compatibilty mode** if successful lets move on to step 12.
12. Copy your back up file to a location on your computer. Open QuickBooks, if it is closed, and restore the backup file and your all set to go.
13. If this does not work let's us know.
