How do I change the classification from Employee to Vendor, or Vendor to Other name with out loosing history? Also how do I change Bank name from Washington Mutual to Chase without loosing history?
Employees are not vendors. Two very distinct and separate things/people in your business. Cannot change classification. They are one or the other but not both.
For the bank, if it's only a name change, just change the name in your COA. If the bank closed your account and opened a new one, you will have this as a new bank on your COA. History is still there is either case. First scenario, it looks exactly the same but called something different. Second scenario, you open up the old account to see the history.

When first setting up our accounts the mortgage payment in error was set up as employee the payment is made to a Bank. How do I re-set banks (name) to vendor or other and not lose history???
