how to print W2's for employees

The answer to your question depends on which type of subscription to payroll you are using.  If you are doing payroll manually (no tax table updates, calculating taxes manually) or if you are subscribed to Basic payroll services, you won't be able to create W-2's from within QuickBooks.
With manual payroll, you have to do everything, well, manually.  And the Basic subscription is designed to be used by companies who have their accountant handle their payroll forms.
To be able to create your own forms from within QuickBooks, you'll need to subscribe to the Enhanced Payroll subscription.
