How to file tax return for a recently married marine stationed in Germany?
My client is in the military stationed in Germany and recently married (Nov 2010) a foreign national from Bulgaria. They both reside in Germany at this time. Spouse is a college student there and has no income. The only income is my client's military pay. Do I file a MFJ return anyway (spouse has no ITIN yet)? If so, is a Form W-7 required to be attached to the completed return? And finally, does all this mean return cannot be filed electronically?
