Using QuickBooks Pro 2011 for medical billing. After I have entered a few EOBs and payments, I need to see which Dates of Service are still unpaid and need to be followed up on. But every view or report I can find seems to mix the information all up so it's unclear. I want something that looks like a medical bill -- so I can see for each DOS how much money has been applied and the balance due.
Are you using invoices or statement charges for the items that are the DOS data entries?
Because if you are using invoices with multiple items listed, you have to understand how the data flows:
Invoices are unpaid sales, so the total due is seen as AR.
Payments are against AR, not against individual entries on the invoice.
I'm using invoices for the entries. Each invoice has only one charge on it (we only provide one service per date), so that simplifies things.
I realized belatedly that the Open Balance Report seems to do the job I'm looking for. I think that's new to me -- my last version didn't have it -- so I missed it when I was looking for this solution.
