How to best set up Customer Names

US QuickBooks Premier : 2012: Contractor

We do residential installations so technically our customer name is the address of the job. Over the years different people may live at that "job". Currently we use the homeowner's name as the Customer Job then if the house changes hands we use the new Homeowner 's nameas the Customer Job. Is there a better way to set this up? Perhaps ideas on using the street address as the Customer Name?

Yes. Set up the address as your main customer and then as the actual person moves in set them up as a sub job (customer) using their name as the job name. When you do billing, just send invoice /statements to the sub job, not the main customer.

Just right click on the main customer and use add job.
