How should I sell yoga class packs or massage packages in POS or QB?

QuickBooks Point of Sale

I own a wellness center that has retail, sub-contracted services (massage, reiki, etc), and offers classes and workshops. We just added yoga. My question is I am trying to sell class packs or massage packs and need a way track and sell in POS & QB. Any advice?

Do you want a way to simply track the sales itself or both the sale and the usage each time a person comes in for a service/class?

Both the sale and the usage for the packages, so I can track how many have been used and how many remain.

THanks!

What I would do (and someone else may have a better way) is ring up the original purchase as a Sales Order and then take the full amount as a deposit.  This will create a transaction in POS that you can sell against each time someone uses a service or class.  It will then use part of the deposit so the resulting sale is for $0.  This will also give you the correct accounting as well.

Just make sure that on the Sales Order you ring up multiple quantities for the item - and then if they get a discount on the package you can use a price level or discount to lower the price.

Hope that makes sense.

You may not need a POS system if you are only selling services

For example, you can do what crc1979 is suggesting in premiere editions of QuickBooks (ones that have sales orders).

We do actually have a lot of retail that we sell as well.  I'm just trying to figure out the best way to sell retail, services and classes all thru POS and QB because I really don't want to add another program into the mix.  Thanks!
