How do I update my excel report created with QSW with new Quickbooks Enterprise data

US QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions : 11.0: Manufacturing and Wholesale

I have exported a report to Excel using QSW. When I try to update the report in excel, It says this is not a valid excel file. What am I missing?

The solution

Did you use the option to Save as Excel in QSW? If so, you will have to update it manually. Once a report is exported as an Excel file (.xls), it no longer has a link to QB to update data.
