Each time I open up QB, I have a reminder pop up about accepting credit cards with my cellular phone. I've turned it off, marked it as done, etc, but it still comes up. I never said I wanted to do this to begin with. How do I get rid of it?

Thank you for posting your question on the forums. I hope to see you come back and answer a question for someone else. You should be able to turn this off in your preferences.
1. Click on the Edit menu
2. Select Preferences
3. Choose Service Connection
4. Under the Company Preferences tab, un-check the box that states "Allow background and downloading of service messages"
5. Click OK

Hi: I saw your question about a reoccuring loan alert reminder. I have the same problem. I even tried removing the loan and replacing it. I still get the message. Did you ever find out how to stop this from happening?

Do you know how to get rid of loan manager payment reminders? I keep marking them as done, but each day they pop up again.

I hope I can help someone else along the way, but it's going to take some time for me to get to the point where I feel like I know my way around QB. I'm coming from a Peachtree background, being a user of that for somewhere around 10 years or close to it. I'll get there!

as for checks if you change the last check number to a high number the reminder wont pop up again for a long time if you don't want it to. next time it pops up you should be able to go to it and change the settings on it.
I am having a similiar problem with an icon that appears in my check writing window, use duplicate file cleaner which reminds me to "order checks". I did try your suggestion as well as putting in a very high check # . Nothing I have found works. I would really like to get rid of this reminder!!

you can try to go to edit pref erence and turn off pop up blocker
Ignore any responses about setting preferences for these annoying popups - and I don't believe for a minute that QB is ever going to "fix" this -- there's a solution on www.cpa911.com, which is a terrific site for learning how to do things in QB:
It is a good site, and I tried their idea, but it did not work either. Thanks for the site info though, I really like it..
Under Company > Alerts there is also a credit card pop-up that can be unchecked. As mentioned, there is always the possibility that it is not guaranteed and may come back.

Wow, I'm just amazed that such a simple and stupid bug has gone unfixed for so long by Intuit. Unless of course, it's not a bug but a feature, so that Intuit may continually harass their (paying) Quickbooks users to order more from them. This side of Intuit will blow up in their faces eventually!
Edit > Preferences > General > Uncheck the box that says "Turn off pop-up messages for products and services.
