How do I get my money back for this crappy payroll system?
How do I get my money back for this crappy payroll system?

I think it is great, especially compared to some things I have used. What don't you like?
1. When I run tax reports the numbers don't match with the checks
2. The tax payment window won't run my 940 monthly intstead of quarterly.
3. I e-filed a tax payment to the state and it doesn't show up in my checkbook
4. This system is not very intuitive for the non-accountant. You would think there would be an instruction manual or set up help when you buy it, without having to go on-line and try to randomly find help for each and every question.
I don't think this company really cares about there users.

There is a ton of info in the Payroll Center, look at the top: Learning Resources. Also Help menu > Learning Center Tutorials. Also, use the Help system, or read the info throughout Payroll Setup. There are a lot of links to describe what you need to be doing.
The 940 payment is yours to control, QB doesn't not control or restrict anything. If you haven't scheduled it correctly, then forget about the View/Pay function. Use the button Related Payment Activities, Create Custom Liability Payments. Now you have full control.
How did you efile the state payment? Do you have Enhanced Payroll or Assisted or what?
When you run which reports, the numbers don't match with which checks? A lot of folks post here because they have this issue and it turns out they are running the wrong reports, or don't know that payroll taxes are based on Paycheck dates.
Payroll is not intuitive. Payroll is a critical fiduciary process. You should never teach yourself payroll. QB has about the easiest payroll I've ever used and taught.
