Equity in a credit union would be set up as a 'bank' type account....

Thank you for your information. So I would create a bank account for equity. I suspect I would enter that through a general journal?

The solution
NO! Do not use general journal in QB unless there is no other way. You would use 'banking/make deposit' to enter this.
