Did you use the FIle GST option in QuickBooks for the previous quarter?

yes, I have done this everytime I needed to file my gst. I did my sons also and the same thing happened.

Go to Reports>Sales Tax>Previous Return.
Is the last return for the correct filing date - the last quarter?

I have looked in my reports and gone to the sale tax summary and the last one I have is from dec 2010 to feb 2011. have I done something wrong? And can it be fixed
