i use gopayment via android and i would love to have the ability to upload my inventory prices and images beforehand, making check out more efficient. i heard this was an ability on the iPhone app.
The iPhone can't upload an inventory/price list, either.
That's probably the most useful feature for someone doing sales.
I agree that the ability to upload an inventory/price list is a manditory process that should be added to gopayment. Also, you should be able to sort that list (by inventory number, price, name, etc.) on your iPhone.
Hi Mary, I got some stuff for you.
The Iphone only keeps 25 transactions. You should be able to adjust this to keep more.
There is no online backup of the receipt. Once you pass 25 transactions the only other place to find the info is in your Merchant account which doesn't have the items purchased in it.
Payment Receipt importing...this is broken on our sysem and the receipts won't import.
So how should the system work? You need to keep an online backup of the payments with the items purchased. This could be accessed from the gopayment login online.
You need to be able to either add multiple emails in the receipt email section or the email notification that is sent when a card is charged needs to have all the information the receipt has.
It would also be nice to actually be creating invoices when you are adding items to a gopayment order. A "check here to create an account in quickbooks" button. If you use the same item codes, quickbooks should be able to recognize the products.
So in conclusion, does it process cards? Yes. Does it allow you to save information? no. Does it help you track inventory? No. Does it at least let you access the info you've gathered online somewhere? no. Do the payment receipts import? Sometimes but not if you do more than 5 charges. Is it better to just run the cards via remote access to QBs? probably unless you just want the money and dont care about anything else in which case why would we even use quickbooks?
Chris from Seattle! I couldn't agree more!
Intuit: First of all, why did you not test this thing? Obviously you didn't or you would've realized all that Chris from Seattle mentioned.
I created my list of items exactly as they are on my price sheet but nowhere do the actual items purchased appear but on the customer email. WHY DOES THE CUSTOMER NEED THE MOST DETAILED LIST OF INFO? If you were going to give someone the copy with this much needed info (items purchased, item price, name of client, email, etc) why did you send it to the client and not ME? I'm left with nothing but a total and a credit card - no information - HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO FOLLOW UP? This makes the app utterly useless.
THERE ARE A TON, LITERALLY A TON OF APPS THAT ONLY RECEIVE PAYMENTS, I COULD YOU PAYPAL FOR PETE’S SAKE. WHY DO YOU THINK I’M USING THE INTUIT APP???? BECAUSE IT’S SUPPOSED TO TIE IN WITH MY QUICKBOOKS AND MAKE MY LIFE EASIER!!!!
As Chris mentioned, I’d rather just use logmein and quick add folks... That way I at least get the information I’ve taken the time to enter. Seriously, I've taken the time to enter the info into the iphone and it appears NO WHERE. This is no doubt a serious error.
Also, I ask the client for their email to send them a receipt (great feature - at least on the surface) however; I have NO RECORD OF THAT EMAIL. Can't you make the thing CC me a copy? Shouldn't that be automatic since the iphone doesn't store anything? Honestly, what were you thinking? This "solution" ended up making things much more difficult for my sales staff when it should have made it easier, wasn't that the point?
Chris also mentioned this - when creating my list of items in the iphone app, why can't I include the actually item codes as they appear in my q.books? This would make for easy syncing. And the box to check "create invoice/create profile" would be fantastic. Basically, I've taken the time to "create an invoice" in my app and then receive payment and in the end all you've provided me with is the payment... this makes no sense.
Our go-payments did not import… fix this! I don't want to hear from one of your reps that our company file is "pretty large." Am I too big of a business to use your products? I really want you to answer that! Tell me if I’ve outgrown you and quick books... I use the enterprise manufacturing and wholesale edition - I think that pretty much implies a bigger operation...
About: We took this app and card reader to a couple of large trade shows over the past two weekends. Some of our reps didn’t collect any hard copy information from the clients – information such as the items purchased, the total, the email address and client names - these were thought to be in the iphone app (and assumed backed up via the app). Is it unreasonable to think that the intuit app would do that? That’s what your product should do!
We arrived home to find the only records were on the payment – nothing else. Again, our go-payments did not import (error). The reps who used logmein and the quick add (which isn’t as fast as the iphone app) had their info and had an easy afternoon of data entry. The reps using the iphone and intuit swiper we thumbing through printed out lists of credit card transactions in attempt to match them up with what little customer info they’d recorded (recorded separately on paper). For example, if I enter the customer email to send a receipt, why is that not stored somewhere? I’ve got to take out some paper and write it down??? That’s why I used the app – so I didn’t have to use the paper!
Overall, get it right and don't half [removed] it.
TEST YOUR PRODUCT BEFORE YOU ROLL IT OUT, WHY AM I YOUR GUINE PIG? WHY AM I ON A FORUM TELLING YOU WHAT YOU SHOULD’VE ALREADY FIGURED OUT!
Don't create something that’s supposed to save me time and end up costing me more. I'm very disappointed Intuit... You cost me a ton of time and money in employee hours fixing this issue… Thanks a lot.
Gopayment is great. As it is developed it would help a great deal to be able to import and export the list of email addresses that we get as we take payments from customers. If we could import this list into our databases, it would allow us to send out mass notifications of sales and promos, for example. It would be a convenient way to keep in touch with our customers, perfect for merchants on the road. Thanks!
I've just downloaded GoPayment while awaiting approval of my application and have been test driving the app:
1) Having used QB for many years, it would be nice if the items list in GoPayment also had subitems. For instance, if I have a print entitled "X" that I'm selling in sizes A, B , and C, it would be helpful to have sizes A, B and C all under one entry of X instead of typing X - A; X - B; and X - C (I say type instead of copying X because copy and pasting from one item description to another item description is not working on my iPhone).
2) Being able to get a sales item list uploaded from QB to GoPayment would also help the duplicative nature of entering items.
3) A customer database sans CC information that is able to be exported or kept along with email addresses.
I would like to see local sales tax rates available by GPS location. For instance if I visit one location and swipe a card, sales tax would be calculated at the local rate and when I'm at the next location sales tax would automatically be updated to reflect their local rate.
I would like to see an iPad app that actually works! The latest update just crashes after sign in!!
Hi Huuligan,
The crash is caused by low memory and restarting the iPad will resolve it.
It would be nice if there were a desktop App to use on Mac as well.
I understand not being able to upload/sync from desktop versions, but using the same item list should be possible with QBO. Ideally this would work as a POS for QBO.
I would like my card reader to actually work with my phone. I have done and tried everything I have possibly read to fix it and it just does not work. The phone picks up that it is there. When I swipe the card, something like card error, swipe again, read error or something. I now see the blue tooth one is free, I need that one.
had similar problem except mine would just sit there telling me to swipe card after i had already swiped it several times. disabled audio effects in my music app and it worked just fine.
Hi Mary,
Can you please help me? I was told by your cs rep that I could use my Blackberry Bold 9780 with the Go Payment CC Reader, but have now discovered that it works with the 9700 model...PLEASE HELP!
Thank you ~ metwo
I bought the bold 9700 just for this program. The free swiper does not work, either. They sent me the second one. It doesn't work, either. The key in version is fine, though.

Tips, and a demo mode for the Android would be nice.
a) An optional 100 character "description of services". I drive people to and from the airports and I would like to enter something like "5/4 2011 Mt. Kisco NY to LaGuardia Airport". and then be able to email or print it on receipt.
b) Signature panel for droid?
Go Payment - wish list
Items created in go payment (IPAD) would sync to QuickBooks and would import invoices into QuickBooks along with payments received.
Accept other forms of payments, such as checks and cash
I would like to have multiple desktop users as well as multiple mobile users. I would like to use GoPayment for all my transactions and not just mobile. I need to let desktop users login with limited function. (ie. process payments only with card swipe or manual entry).
I would like to have GoPayment sync with my QuickBooks Online account. (ie. process a payment and it becomes "paid" in QuickBooks online)
