Getting the multi computers in sync

US QuickBooks Pro for Windows : 2011

We are using QB Pro 2011 in multi-user mode. After we send a file to the accountant and get it back, the 2 computers are not in sync any more. It takes us several attempts at reloading the company file to get them to talk to each other.

Thank you for posting your question, Betsy0024 .

How is the file being sent to the Accountant?  Are you sending them the full .qbw file or are you sending them an Accountant's copy (*.qba).

if you are sending them just the .qbw file or a backup, it will make things complicated, as each machine may be mapped to a different file.

If your accountant has the Accountant's copy feature, you can just send them an accountant's copy and when they send the changes back, you can just import them.  There will be no need to resync anything.

Thank you for the help.  We are sending the Accountant the full .qbw file.  I think we need to change that practice and send the accountant's copy as you suggested.

You will not be able to make any changes to your file if you send the accountant the .qbw file. If the accountant makes changes, any changes you make will be over-written. The accountant's copy allows you and them to continue working
