This includes QuickBooks, QuickBooks Payroll, Point of Sale, & Salesforce.com. This is only for US based products. This does not affect QuickBooks Online customers! Gen Acct'ing Question - invoicing other income

Gen Acct'ing question: Can I invoice for a bookkeeping contract under a construction corporation?

I am an employee under my husband's construction company. I do the bookkeeping along with many other jobs. I just picked up a small contract to help another company out with their book-keeping. Can I invoice for this through the construction company, or should it just be kept separately and under me personally?

Thanks.

Bookkeeping is totaly separte business. Don't invoice through construciton company.  Keep it separate.  Open a new company in the quickbooks.  Go to file>new company and follow the steps.

If this is the answer pl click solved.

Hope this helps. If so please mark solved. Or if you like it-then click thumbs up. Thanks

you asked for additional help but haven't said what type of help you would like.  please ask another question so that we know how to reply.

Why carry the stick if you're not going to stir the pot?

The solution

seems to me that if you have been personally offered a gig to do some work for someone else, you are going to be a subcontractor for him and he should give you a 1099.  if this is the only outside work you intend to take, i'm not sure that it's necessary to set up a new company file.  just wait for the 1099 at the end of the year.
