Filing S-Corp Return

I use Pro Series BASIC. All of my clients are 1040 tax filers except for one. This one is an S-Corp. Every year I end up purchasing an additional product just to complete this one S-Corp return. Any suggestions? I e-mailed Pro Series 3 times to no avail.

Your pro-series box that arrived with the cd roms in it should have contained a second cd rom which contains all the 1065s and 1120s, etc.

As a pro-series customer, we are supposed to be able to file these types of returns on a pay-as-you-go basis. I think it is like $17 or something like that.

I would definitely give that a try before you spend a bunch of money on new software to do one return.

Note: I have never done this, although I do have one new client this year that has a partnership that I will be doing.... guess we'll both find out together :)

Go Bucks!

I'm in the same boat. I was told to use the second CD that came in the ProSeries package that shipped on 12/29. It is actually ProSeries Professional and we can use it as PPR. I'd be interested to hear how this works for you.

Yes the information is correct. Last year I filed an SCorp return as a Pay Per Return and did not have to paid an additional license fee only the 17 something for that return.

How exactly did you do it? Did you have to go in Professional and do the entire return or do you link that one form from that 2nd cd into probasic?
And if so, how did you do it?

You put the CD in your computer, it loads the program for Professional, you do the return in professional and when you go to print or efile it you have to pay the Pay Per Return Fee. Once you pay for that return, you can print it as many times as you need to. There is no linking to Basic. It is a little more complicated to navigate but I found that once I got used to it, no problem. I have done several returns this way. When you efile it, you have to pay for that as well. Also, you need to make sure that if you are efiling that you are authorized by the IRS to efile business returns. When you signed up for your ERO number you needed to tell them you would be filing these types of returns. If not, you can change your paperwork with the IRS and then you can do them.
Hope this helps.
