Filing CO Payroll Tax Return
Why did online payroll stop offering to e-file CO state payroll tax returns? It used to e-file them. Now it doesn't even prompt to file them. That being the case, how do I file them now?

Currently QuickBooks Online Payroll & Intuit Online Payroll do not support the ability to electronically file Colorado tax forms.
The state of Colorado changed their filing format and the CO UITR-1 form is no longer a accepted form per the state. This is why you get a error message and 'do not mail' messages. You will be able to print out the form from our system, and it will serve as a Worksheet. You will then need to file directly on the Colorado State site or manually prepare the form the state mailed you directly.

Thanks for the reply, Maria. As a non-profit, we don't participate in the Colorado Unemployment Insurance program, so the UITR-1 isn't applicable to our situation.
The form I was interested in was the DR 1094, Colorado Department of Revenue Income Withholding Tax Return. I think the last time it was included in the forms to file within QB Online Payroll was before the system transition to Intuit Online Payroll. I sustpect I am very delinquent on filing these monthly/quarterly returns.
I have been paying the monthly tax deposits, but haven't filed a return since the change in the system. I guess since the old online payroll system prompted me to file the returns and provided a printable form, then the new system would have done the same. Apparantly that is not true.
Since I am a volunteer and not a professional bookkeeper/accountant, I was dependent on this service to tell me what I needed to do and now I am probably in trouble with the state. The state does not send me paper forms, so I didn't have that to prompt me to file the returns, either. Yuck!
Hi Teddy!
Thank you so much for providing me with more details. We actually do support the Colorado DR-1094 form. This is the payment coupon for Income taxes. We support both the signature format of the form as well as to file electronically.
If you are not enrolled in eServices, when you make your Colorado Income tax payment you will be able to print the form. If you are enrolled and making the ePayment the form will automatically get filed at the time the payment is made.
Because this is a payment coupon versus a tax form you will not get a prompt like all other tax forms.
Feel free to reach out to us and we can help you obtain previous DR-1094 (if payments have been made) or you can review prior tax payments made and review the form from there.
