Exporting Lacerte invoices to QB

I noticed that for this year, the QuickBooks file (2006 version) has to be open in order to export the invoice. However, my secretary, who does not have administrator rights in our QB file, was unable to export the invoice even though the company file was open in QB.What is the steps we must take in order to export the Lacerte invoice to QB?Thanks,Barry

Hello Barry, If you would be so kind as to walk me through your steps in a bit more detail...

Are you referring to Lacerte where you export the billing information to QuickBooks?

A few questions just so I can get the full information without having to go back to you a bunch of times?

What version of Lacerte: 2006 and/or 2005?
Is QB on the same computer or different?
Is QB linked in a network?
is QB in single or multiuser mode?

Thanks,

Bruce

Lacerte is 2005 tax, QB is 2006.

QB is on the same computer but the data files for both programs are on the network server. The QB file is in multi user mode.

Thanks.

It will probably work best with the program open. In the past we used a COM interface to open QB, but (I think) it has been removed in 06. If you configure the company file to allow Lacerte to open it then you will not need to have it open first. Below is the process for doing that?€?

Edit ?€“> Preferences
Integrated Application - > Company Preferences ->Properties
Access Rights ?€“ Check ?€˜Allow this application to login automatically?€™.

See attached illustrations.

I am having trouble exporting Lacerte 2005 Client Billings to my firm's data file in Quickbooks 2006 Premier AE. My Quickbooks 2006 Premier AE are installed on multiple workstations with individual license for each workstation. The company file is usually opened in multi-user mode unless otherwise instructed. I have contacted Lacerte and they have determined that the problem resides with Quickbooks - Case Closed. I also notified Quickbooks via User Feedback and have yet heard back.

The following warning message appeared when exporting billing information from my Lacerte 2005 to Quickbooks 2006 Premier AE:

The returned text is passed via the qbXML COM Request Processor directly from Quickbooks to your application and is not issued by the qbXML COM Request Processor itself. You may find it useful to copy the text verbatim to your message window.

My Lacerte system program is installed on Windows 2003 Server and my Quickbooks company file is also located on the same server. All my workstations are Windows XP Professional with SP2.

Thanks in advance for any input or work around!

Tai Sung, CPA

Please discard previous posting. I just installed R4P and exporting client billings from Lacerte to Quickbooks 2006 AE works!

We have quite a few clients in Lacerte. When I initiate the invoice export from Lacerte to QB it took me a full 5 minutes for the process to complete. It first tries to open the QB file and then tries to open the Customer List. I was under the impression that this process was streamlined in 2006. I can't possibly improve my efficiency if I am waiting 5 mintues for each invoice to export. I will have to continue to input each invoice into QB manually.
