Exporting from QB to PS

This is not really a year specific question. When I first started using QB and PS, I would use the export feature. I did this the first year but quickly determined that it was more work than help and now simply input the trial balance into PS, quick and painless. However, one issue that has recurred and I've spoken with both QB and PS tech support and no one has a solution, is once you have used the export/import feature when you go back to open a PS file, QB automatically updates and potentially changes the tax return that was filed. I've asked about locking the return once completed, which seems simple enough to do. Why can't, once the return is complete, printed and filed, a locking feature be allowed that requires a password to change that return (QB has a similar feature)? I've been trying to open a 2004 PS S corp return that was originally exported into PS but everytime I open it the QB update begins and I can't stop it. Any ideas from anyone how to stop QB from updating?

I have the same problem. Drives me nuts. It makes this feature totally not worth it.

Have you contacted PS and gotten anything worthwhile at all? I've contacted both QB and PS and was told they had not had anyone else with the same problem. I cannot believe that you and I are unique (I was told once it had to be my computer, right!) with this issue. Maybe others will respond and PS/QB will have to figure out what the solution is. I agree, it is totally worthless to export QB to PS and I still cannot open a 2004 tax return without QB automatically updating AND making the return wrong and NOT what was actually filed. That's worse than worthless!
