Hello cheryl1943,

The letters ABU stand for automatic backup. Someone has set this file to automatically backup every X number of times the program is closed. It's not a bad option to have running. If you want to turn this off, select File>Save copy or backup. Next select backup, then local backup (if you have 2 choices) and then next. You will see the screen with 3 options. Select the last one, which says "Only schedule future backups".  If you uncheck the box in the Back up automatically section, that will turn off the automatic backup feature.

As far as size, i wouldn't worry about that too much. Just to satisfy my curiosity I did an autobackup and a regular backup of the same file. My results were the opposite of yours. As a precaution, run the verify utility (File>Utilties>Verify). If that comes up clean then you should be fine.

Please let me know if this helps or if you have other questions.

Amy K
