Excel crashed, getting back into file.

ProLine Tax Online

I have a report that houses many statements. Today my excel crashed. Now when i go to reopen that file it brings up new financial report screen. I can see my sheets in the background but cannot get to them. If i do not create new report, it closes.  Is there a way to get back my data?  I can open other reports and they work just fine.  It is just the one that i was working on when it crashed.

Is this happening when you are trying to open a statement writer file you've already created or when you try to Create New? If it's an already created file, it sounds like you'll need to recreate the report from scratch. Once a statement file is damaged, there is no way to recover it.

You may be able to open it to view as a template to help recreate your new report, some users have reported success in renaming the extension to .xls and opening in Excel to view the contents. Hopefully your statement file is not too damaged that you can do this.

Good luck!
