Important Announcement! A planned system-wide upgrade will take place over the Memorial Day Weekend in the US (From Thurs, May 24, 2012 at 6 pm PDT thru Tues, May 29, 2012 at 5 am PDT). Error when Exiting QB

windows encounters error when exiting quick books and I download problem to Microsoft and then taken to intuit and a list of problems come up for people running Vista...I am not running vista. What is solution. I have 5 companies and it appears to only happen to one of them. There isn't an error number associated with this

I have the same problem, and it applies to all of the companies I have set up in QB 2008. When I use File_Exit nothing happens. Then I click on the red X to close it and I get a "Not responding" error and neverending hourglass. The second time I click on the X QB closes. I ran the repair and it didn't do anything. At one point I reinstalled the entire program, and this seemed to work temporarily but then the problem re-emerged. I even migrated to a new computer using Vista instead of XP, but the problem occurred equally in both operating systems. Not only does this waste time, but I would imagine it's dangerous to be shutting down the program using the X instead of the File_Exit menu. This issue with freezing upon exit seems to be all over the Community forum, and I have yet to see an answer that makes any sense. I'm sure we all have tried the repair routine at this point, and that just doesn't solve it. I would suggest there is a bug here and Intuit should acknowledge the bug and say they are working on a fix. If this is happening to so many of us, it must be happening in Intuit's development lab too, yes?
