error message in forms view
Lacertewhen I change screens in forms view I get an error message and can't move until I check send or don't send. Help!

Did this resolve the issue for you Carolboardman? I have four computers in our office with this issue Lacerte told us there was no way to fix the problem, that it would corrected in a update. The issue still has not been resolved.

I have clicked SEND to send information to Lacerte many many many times with no response. This happens when I am changing screens in Forms view. It happens about the third time I change screens and then every time thereafter - in every kind of return. The program is virtually useless if you have to exit and reopen every three pages. I need HELP. Thank you.

- Run CLPACK (CLPACK: The Lacerte Client Database Repair Utility)
- If CLPACK doesn't resolve the issue. Get the error on screen and contact support. Support should be able to diagnose the cause and determine a solution.

Carol-Lacerte does not respond to those errors you send them. So do not hold your breath waiting. Supposedly they monitor them, use them internally, act upon them if loads of people have them.

As of February 22 this issue is not resolved. It makes the program difficult to use. Intuit says it is a "known issue" and will be fixed in an update to be released whenever they get the problem fixed. A very interesting answer considering how long Intuit has "known" about this problem. I was told on the telephone that the "work around" is to not view forms from within the tax return; only view forms from the client screen. Inefficient and inadequate solution. I am not a happy camper.

In fact, Carol, I never even heard of "viewing forms" from the client screen. If "client screen" means the list of all clients, I've never known of being able to "view forms" there. The only way I can "view forms" is to be inside a client's data file.

When viewing the list of clients, highlight the client and hit Forms at the top of the page. Exiting out of the return every time you want to view a form is pretty convenient isn't it?

I've been having exactly the same problem. It started toward the end of last filing season (with Lacerte 09) and I was hoping the 2010 version would have corrected the problem. This is a pretty significant issue, and completely disrupts the use of the software if I have to back out of the client detail every time just to come back in to view another form. It's hard to imagine that Lacerte can't get this right.
Has a fix been discovered yet?

I do not have Logitech drivers on my computer. This problem is not yet resolved and I am severely inconvenienced when attempting to use the Lacerte program. When will this "known issue" be addressed by technical support?
