EasyAcct

error code is 126 7E. Thye specified module could not be found.

That's a new one.  I have a few questions for you:

  • What screen were you in?
  • What task were you performing?  
  • Can you duplicate the error?
  • What operating system are you on?

I did a quick Google search because this error message is inconsistent with EasyACCT error messages.  There were a lot of results, mainly in the form of forum discussions. Based on my quick perusal, the error suggests device or driver-related issues as the cause; although the solutions were all over the map depending on the circumstance.

We were trying to upload the new revised software.  So we entered into EasyAcct on the page with all the clients listed and in the lower right cornor show an update available.  Click on that and then it ask if we want to upload the software and then the error message comes up  ERROR ENCOUNTERED WHILE RUNNING PROGRAM VERSION UPDATE.  THE ERROR CODE AND MESSAGE IS 126 7E.  THE SPECIFIED MODULE COULD NOT BE FOUND.

I also tried to go on to the internet to download the update and get the same error and message.  I can duplicate the error very easily, and it has been many times.

We are running Windows XP on the work stations.

Do you know what your shared download path is set to?  To verify:

  1. Go to System, System Utilities, System Characteristics
  2. Switch to the Updates tab.
  3. What is selected in the Shared Download path? 
  4. Also make sure the checkbox is marked.

Another question: 

  1. What is shown in the title of the error message?  (In the upper left of the blue bar across the top of the error message).
