This includes QuickBooks, QuickBooks Payroll, Point of Sale, & Salesforce.com. This is only for US based products. This does not affect QuickBooks Online customers! Have you considered all this?

Error -6094, 0: "An error occured when QuickBooks tried to start the database server that manages access to the QuickBooks company file."

What is happening?
When trying to open a QuickBooks company file, the following error message occurs:

An error occured when QuickBooks tried to start the database server that manages access to the QuickBooks company file. Error (-6094,0)

Why is this happening?
QuickBooks is not able to launch the database server and therefore cannot open the company file.

Detailed Instructions
To resolve this error, try restarting the computer that hosts the company file:

1.Click the Microsoft Windows Start button and select Shut Down. The Shut Down window opens.

2.Click the drop-down arrow and select Restart, and then click OK.

3.Open Quickbooks and try to open the company file.

If the error continues, ensure that any firewall and/or antivirus software is configured to allow access to the QuickBooks company file and folder.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If this solution does not resolve the issue, you can read discussions and post messages and questions relating to your issue on the Intuit QuickBooks Community site. You can also review other available QuickBooks support options for additional guidance.

Was there a recent system change?

I am getting this message for the first time as well.  I have been using Quick Books for 5 years, now using Quick Books 2010.

I have restarted a couple of times and ensured that Quick Books is not being blocked by my firewall ... and searched and searched online for an answer.

Please help.  It is 11pm and I have to get an invoice out.  I paid extra for unlimited tech support, used it once and now when I need it they are closed and only open for regular business hours.

not happy.
