entering an invoice of an item that going to change

QuickBooks Point of Sale

i purchase some christmas wreaths (undecorated) at $5.00 each. I have not put in the recieving voucher because those wreaths are now decorated ( and now became a diffrnet item and cost has increased). How do i enter the invoice.

Are you decorating the wreaths your self?  If so I would recommend setting up an assembly item.  From there you will be able to account for the cost of the wreath and any added decorations/items.  Search 'assembly item' in the in product help for more details.

can i link two invoices together? because the original invoice for the wreath comes from one company and the decorations comes from another to add up the cost.

No there is not a way to do this.  To set up an assembly item you must add the decorations to your item list with the cost of the decorations (per wreath).  When you create the assembly item it will add the cost of one wreath to the cost of one unit of decorations.

When creating a normal inventory item change the 'type' to 'assembly'

The solution

Once you create and save the item you will need to go back to your item list, show the details, and edit the assembly to add the items included with the assembly.

so when i enter the recieving voucher i enter it the normal way? then i go into the item list and take out the quianity or no?

what if its an item i already had in inventory can i still chage it even if i had it fior a few years?
