In QB for Mac 2012, clicking the Enter Time icon always opens in Timesheet, even though preferences are set to open in Single activity. I have to goto the Customers > Time Tracking >Enter Single Activity since the icon does not work.
How can I fix this?

Seriously, Intuit made some changes to the Time tracking in the 2012 version, and I gues they broke the code that makes this work. I'd submit it as a bug using the Feedback link on the QuickBooks menu.
In the meantime, you can make your own button, and add it to the Toolbar. With the Single Activity timer window open, select Add Window to Toolbar from the Company menu. Give it a name and a relevant icon (like the clock) and click Add.
That preference only applies to the Record Time option under the gear menu on the Employee list. See the screenshot. VRCQB's suggestion to create your own icon is perfect.

jfisher, it sure seems odd that this preference does not correspond to the main icon on the Home Page, as I'm not the only person who thinks that this is a broken feature. Since Entering Time is a common task, it really should apply there. I hope you can pass this suggestion on to the development team.
