why does intuit ask for a 10 digit pin number to file the 941/940 federal returns by efile. when you sign up for efile payments on the eftps website you do not get a 10 digit pin you only get a 4 digit pin. intuit always rejects every app we send.
The four digit pin is for paying. There is a separate ten digit pin for filing th reports. You need to sign up for both.
Same with me, I know the difference between the 4 digit pin for payments...mine are getting rejected as well...if anyone can shed some light on this please help
The application to e-file the 941 form will be rejected by the IRS if you do not fill out the form exactly as it appears on the original SS4 form that was used to apply for the EIN#.
The IRS is very particular about this. You can call the IRS and get a better explanation as to why it is being rejected but they will only speak to the person authorized to sign the form.
