EF Filing Errors Since March 3rd Update

Lacerte : 2008

EF Filing Errors Since Latest Update: We downloaded/installed CD-4 +l all updates incl update of March 3rd to supposedly fix our EF errors when filing...Alas, we still get EF filing errors on ALL returns now. Is this an error in the latest download?

I am having a similar problem although some of mine are being accepted. Lacerte Tech is trying to tell me there is a problem with my practitioner PIN number. The PIN has not changed and the problem only started this past weekend so that's not it. They have not fixed the problem yet and they need to admit that instead of falsely telling everyone the problem was resolved. If it was fixed, I wouldn't still have a stack of rejected e-Files with the same exact Error Code.

I would think other preparers trying to send EF returns would be experiencing this same problem...perhaps, when they comment on this issue too we will get an answer or a resolution.

I have also downloaded all available updates and still i'm getting rejection notices on all partnership returns from the IRS. Will there be a fix to this problem soon????

IRS Rejects. Same error code as before. X0000-005. I submitted seven 1065s yesterday after receiving the update. Two were accepted, five were rejected with Error X0000-005. The problem is NOT fixed.

Here is the answer I just received.

"We contacted IRS regarding this matter and were notified that IRS is currently updating the new version 5.1 of partnership returns with some changes. Apparently, returns get validation error if any of the partners use EIN number instead of SSN. Updated version 5.1 of partnership schema will address this validation error. Once we receive the updated schema from IRS, we will update our program and release it on Internet Update as soon as possible."

This seems to match the results I am getting. My 1065s with only individual partners were accepted. All of the rejected 1065s have a non-individual partner with an EIN. Hope this helps!
