Duplicate SSN

I have a networked external drive with all my ProSeries data on it. I can then access it using the single user version from any computer I have in my house. It seems to work fantastically. But, sometimes I get duplicates in my Homebase and my EFile views. I think one way to get rid of this is to back up my data files, then delete all the clients in the Homebase. Then restore the data back to my networked drive and then run maintenance on my Homebase.Does anybody have any thoughts on an easier way to do this, or what i may be doing wrong to create this problem?

Similar situation happen to me this year as well. When I first installed 2007 ProSeries Basic, I chose to transfer all 2006 clients data to 2007. Then each time when I complete inputting data for existing clients for 2007 and safe file for same file name except 2006 change to 2007, after close the file, red color duplicate SSN shows on EFile views.

What I do to Fool the program is to open that client's 2006 return and remove Efile option, then safe and close 2006 file. Then I open the same client's 2007 return, remove Efile option, safe and close the file. At this moment, red color Duplicate SSN no longer shows on EFile views. I don't open the same client's file right away, instead, I open any other client's file, do nothing, just open and close. Then, I open the previous client's file and re-click Efile option and keep on doing what I need to input for this client. After I safe and close this client's file, no more duplicate SSN and I can efile the return without any problem so far.

I know it sounds stupid and hope you understand what I'm trying to explain to you what I do to fool the program. Simply remove the E-file option, safe it and close it, then re-open the file again and choose e-file option again.

Hope this stupid way works for you instead of doing back up, delete and restore for the whole thing.
