Downloading from Citibank

I'm trying to download credit card activity from Citibank but they keep referring me to Citibank who refers me back to QB. It seems you can only download into Quicken.Has anyone had sucess downloading into Quickbooks from Citibank? If so, how do you do it?

Is it a consumer or business c-card?. If it is a consumer credit card you probably can't download the info into QuickBooks. While I can't remember for sure I believe most c-card companies only offer a Quicken download for consumer cards. The best thing is to call the on-line banking group and ask them if they support web connect downloads for QB. If they tell you no then you will need to enter those transactions manually or find a credit card with on-line functionality that supports web connect.

I do know what this problem is:

Commercial cards almost always will go into QuickBooks,

Consumer cards will go to Quicken.

Some consumer cards will do a pdf file which can be converted to excel, but you still have to transfer.

See if this works for you:

OK, after frustrating calls and e-mails to Citibank, and after letting this question stew for a couple of days, finally Intuit sent me an automatic e-mail suggesting I look at five other forum questions. I'd already seen four of them, but this one: "http://community.intuit.com/po...; was new to me. The answer suggested using "Citi Cards" in stead of "Citi Business Card" in the on-line set-up. Instead of setting up the, what I'll call, "main" account, I set-up my individual card (since signing in on-line with my individual card info gives me access to the whole account anyway) using the username and password for that card only. IT WORKS! Remains to be seen what happens when I get the second card on the account, since I haven't received that yet. Bottomline: Use Citi Cards as the financial institution in the on-line set-up. (I now notice there are three CitiBusiness entries: Citi Business Card, CitiBusiness Credit Cards, and CitiBusiness Web Connect; listed in the Financial Institution Directory. I wonder what the difference is (I know what Web Connect is).

Alright, Citibusiness download problem solved.

I struggled with this for 6 months. So here is the solution.

1.Go to citicards.com

2.Setup a new login for the citibusiness card. You cannot use your personal, although you can see the business account. You need a SEPARATE ID for the citibusiness card.

3.Test it. make sure it goes directly to your citicard business account only.

4.Now make sure you have an upto date quickbooks I just downloaded 2013. I had 2009 that Intuit had discontinued providing onlione service supprt.

5.Use Online banking setup.

6.Use CitiBusiness Card

7.Use the SAME ID  and password as your online log in for citicards specific to your citibusiness card.

8. It should show your account. Select and enjoy.

I tried everything and it just worked today, hope it helps you.

Latest post

Citibank updated their backend and the download to quickbooks has been down since sometime in February 2013. Called today and still no fix.
