Important Announcement! A planned system-wide upgrade will take place over the Memorial Day Weekend in the US (From Thurs, May 24, 2012 at 6 pm PDT thru Tues, May 29, 2012 at 5 am PDT). divorece and home buyer credit

My client separated from her husband, then bought a home before the divorce was final. They owned a home together for 10 years prior. If I am reading things right she is not eligible for the 6500 credit, even if he released her from the deed.  Just looking for confirmation

I'm not sure you are correct.  You do not have to sell the old home to take the credit so that is not an issue.  Why are you thinking she is not eligible?

She was still married at the time she bought the new home.  Divorce was not final until after the purchase.

Confirmed.  I think.

Morons. I've got MORONS on my team. Nobody is going to rob us going DOWN the mountain. We have got no MONEY going DOWN the mountain. When we HAVE GOT the money, goin' back UP the mountain, THEN you can sweat.
