Might need a little more information. Which tax year? Do you know the password? If you know the password, highlight the client, then click on the minus icon, then enter the password.
If you forget a password for a protected client, you can unlock your client file via the Lacerte website, My Account, by using the following steps:
MY ACCOUNT (FOR FIRM ADMINISTRATORS ONLY):
1. Login in to My Account.
2. Click Unlock Protected Client File.
3. Enter the information and click Submit.
4. Return here to enter the unlock code.
I did try this option. I was able to access password protected files using the single file but not the multiple clients. Thanks for your help!
We had the same problem...Single clients worked OK but not multiple clients. Also, we had DMS clients (30 or so) that tell you to send a fax to Lacerte along with certain info & they will call the primary contact (me) but thus far after 2 faxes over the last several weeks & still NO phone call on getting DMS or multiple clients unlocked.

I vaguely remember wanting to remove around 4 password-protected clients, and the "single-client password retrieval" worked while the "multiple-client" method didn't. So I just did them one at a time, and that worked.
