delay in accepting returns

A return I sent yesterday has not been accepted yet. Does anyone know about a delay with the IRS

I think yours rode on the bus with a few of mine because I'm also waiting on a few from yesterday.
We got spoiled with the fast turn-arounds up to Friday. My Friday ones came in late Friday night. And I am waiting for all of the Proseries Saturday transmissions. The Taxwise ones got accepted on the 1hr timetable. I saw a comment that Drake had sent an email that IRS had asked them to use Legacy only for the next week. It appears that may be the case with ProSeries. I believe that MeF is constant transmission but that Legacy has several one hour windows per day that the software company can send returns only during those hours. (I think that I read that?)
I sure hope that if this is what is happening at Intuit that the DIYs are not getting preferential treatment.
It could be the service center. Ones I sent this morning were excepted right away. Will send more in about an hour. I go thru Austin. Don't know where you guys go thru.
When it really comes down to it, what difference does it make? Is the client going to die if it's not accepted within 5 minutes? Are they going to know? I just want the kinks worked out. I want the ability to attach pdf files instead of having to pay to mail them. Being able to efile amendments would be lovely. But I don't see how a 1 day delay is any different from a 24 to 48 hour acceptance time in the past.
Mine that I sent last night about 8 pm were accepted today some time. It is showing they went thru MeF though. I filed some about 1/2 hour ago that have not been accepted yet but I agree with titl that I'm not real concerned that they might take up to 24 to 48 hours to be accepted. Mine go trhu Kansas City.
I also figured the others went thru KC. Why Iowa in the middle of it all goes thru Austin, I don't know. That is only reason I suspected service center problem; not IRS problem. Could be the Chiefs just signed Peyton Manning and Steven Jackson and everyone is out celebrating.
Taxiowa - I think you heard wrong. Manning is going to the Redskins and Favre is going to the Chiefs.
Maybe someone should call the KC service center then. Acknowledments will then be up to date in minutes. I still haven't sent any to Austin yet so I will have to get back to yee all later.
FWIW--got a call from INTUIT last nite around 8pm to discuss the indiana delays--and to let me me know its still an issue-even the current status of my delayed returns-he then made the mistake of asking about everything else--i tried to get a nibble in for everyone
i havent had any acceptances this afternoon either
I had about a half dozen go out last night that haven't been accepted as of 15 minutes ago. If things are going to be this slow I might switch over to Lacerte - those guys are used to this slow processing stuff.
Paybacks are [removed], eh IRMN. Welcome to Lacertion ack world.
I thought you were a better man, uh lion, than that to make that comment. I haven't been hurt like that since I had that anvil dropped on my head about 15 minutes ago.
Yeah, but that was a rubber anvil, right? Leading edge, bleeding edge. Thanks buddy for paving the way to an absolutely flawless Lacerte e-filing season for next year. (Sarcasm alert).
We're not having trouble with acceptances, but the processing is something else. Until Jan 28th they were paying within 10 days. Since then, we've have some that are past 20 days and still no payment scheduled. Is anyone else having this problem?
A return I sent yesterday has yet to be sent to the IRS, It is still in "received by Intuit status". I am a long time ProSeries user and have never experienced this before.
I still have six from Friday night sitting on the tarmac with your returns.
I sent about 20 last night at 9:30 and they were all acknowledged when I checked at noon today. So again it must be service center. Where you located Ed?
I efiled last night about 8:30 and had the acknowledgements this morning at 9:00 when I checked. Kansas City Service Center on mine.
I just got off of live chat. According to Henry M, "the IRS is constantly falling behind in processing/refunding this year...this might be another phase of it". I did find out though that although the message says "received by Intuit", it actually has been sent to the IRS. I did veryify that status using the DCN for one of my MIA returns. Minnesota did this a few years ago and what they did was pile up a stack of returns and process the current returns and slowing work through the stack while processin the current returns. I don't know if the IRS is working the same way or not, but it looks like all we can do is sit back and wait at this time.
