Deduction for Legal Fees
I think the answer is no, but I wanted to see if these legal fees would be deductible.I have a client who was being sued for child support. He spent about $10,000 in legal fees on this as it had gotten to the point that a court was going to garnish his wages. He finally wised up, got a court-approved paternity test and it was proven he is not the father. Are these fees deductible as an itemized deduction? Thanks in advance
