Custom field data does not show up on invoice report

US QuickBooks Pro for Windows : 2012

I added a custom field, called billing number, for use with customers. I enter the data in the field for a customer. I added the custom field (with label) to a custom invoice report that I created (a copy of an inuit report). The field was added using the Add Field button in the Layout Designer. The field label and the field border show up on printed invoice, however, the data in the field is not printed. All the rest of the customer data shows up on the invoice report but the data in the custom field I added does not. Any ideas? Seems like a bug to me...

Has anyone else had problems with custome field data not showing up on reports?

Be sure that both boxes are checked in addional customization print on screen and invoice

Yup, both boxes are checked. I also deleted and re-added the field to see if that made any difference. And in the define fields window, it is checked for use with Customer. But all to no avail, it still doesn't show up on screen (print preview) or when printed.

are you working with an existing invoice or starting from scratch, I have noticed that if I try and change an already saved invoice things don't go the way I want them to. Is this a field that you are filling in in the on the customer "additional info" or just typing it on every invoice. Another option my be under edit customer "Payment Info" is a field called Account No. this is where I have entered my customer's billing number but when I have it print on the invoice I changed the title to "Customer #" (on the addditional customization Header tap)
