If you e-file your extension there is no need to attach an acknowledgement to the paper filed return.
Even though I file extensions electronically, I still send in the paper extension by certified mail in bulk. I have found that if something goes wrong in the submission or on the receivers end, it is hard to prove that you did file the extension electronically.
I would like feedback if it is possible to verify an electronic extension. Will the IRS accept Intuit's report they give us?
