need to convert company file from 2007 to 2010 and am using the back up file from 2007 and it will not open it gives me errors

try to restore the back up back again in quickbooks 2007 and verify the data... go to file -> utilities -> and verify data. and then see what msg do u get. if it says - no problems detected then try to update the data file in quickbooks.

If I remember correctly, you can't just use "Open Company File" you must use "restore Back-up file" while in 2010.
