Connect FAM to QB for current tax year

How do I create a new client/database file in QB Premier Accountant 2005 that connects to Fixed Asset Manager 2005 so that I can export both the trial balance AND the fixed assets to ProSeries 2005 from the same database file?OR ... how do I change from within QB, the associated version of FAM?When I run QB Premier Accountant 2006, I get FAM 2005 ... When I load QB Premier Accounant 2005, I get FAM 2004Thanks.

kharriss - I see that you've posted at least 3 different times on this subject of trying to export FAM to Proseries. I'm having the same problem. I have QB Premier Acct 2006. Best I can tell, this gets me FAM 2005. Which explains why I can't get it to export to Proseries to prepare my 2006 return.

Have you figured out a work around? I'm desparate - we have hundreds of assets.

Hello.

As you are experiencing, the FAM program in QB is designed to look back at the previous tax year only. So you won't be able to export the 2006 fixed assets, unless you use QB Accountant's 2007. There really aren't any work arounds to this. You can purchase FAM separately, but it won't do the journal entries into QB. Here is the link, if that will be of help to you.

I hope this answers your question.

Any suggestions for improving this part of the program would be very welcome. In QB go to help-send feedback online-product suggestion.

Thank you for posting your question.

Amy
