Closing old purchase orders

My client was not receiving against purchase orders but did enter the bill and make payment to the vendor. This occurred for many transacations and would take a lot of time and effort to reverse and correct. Is there a way I can close these old purchase orders correctly?

I have encountered this issue before and we ended up deleting the old purchase orders. They weren't attached to any other transactions and the client didn't need them for tracking. It had no effect on their books. Not elegant, but it was much more expeditious than the alternative.

Alternatively, you can open each Purchase Order and click the "Close" box at the bottom rather than deleting each one. That also has no effect on the books since Purchase Orders are non-posting, but it does clean up your Open Purchase Order report.

Has anyone encountered where qb won't save your closed out purchase orders?  For example, I click on the close box and proceed to either save and close or save and new and it will not save; the purchase order remains open.  Is there a way around this?

I have a similar issue.  A purchase order that is on the open PO list will not go away even though all the items have been received in full or closed by checking the close box.  Anyone have ideas on how to get rid of this?
