Client Advisor recommendations won't print

I can open up the Advisor for editing and see that the program-generated recommendations are there; but when I print the Client Presentation, the Advisor page is blank except for the boiler-plate text. It's not a huge problem for me, because most of the recommendations only belabor the obvious anyway. But it is annoying. Anyone know what the problem might be?Chuck Warman, CPAWichita Falls, TX

Hi Chuck,

How populated were the fields in your client?s 1040 tax return? Was your client?s return a simple one? There are a total of 71 possible client recommendations in Client Advisor. The recommendations are triggered by various fields within the client?s 1040 tax return. The Client Advisor page is only left blank/without recommendations (with the exception of the boiler plate) when these various fields in the client's 1040 tax return in ProSeries haven't been filled out or populated.

One example of this would be: if line 60 in the ProSeries Form 1040 has a value greater than zero, then advice will be generated on the Client Advisor page informing the client that they incurred additional tax on a qualified retirement plan or other tax favored account and that they should consult with you to avoid this in the future.

I hope this helps!
Heather

Thanks for your reply, Heather.

I've completed about 60 returns so far this year, and no recommendations have printed for any of them. A lot of these are fairly complex returns. Furthermore, I can open up the Client Advisor in Excel, and see that the program has generated specific recommendations, several of them in some cases. They're in there, but they won't print. I have no clue why.

Thanks again,
Chuck

Mine print all the time, however, I keep trying to eliminate the one advising clients to take college courses, but it keeps printing. I have to manually cross it out. Anyone have an idea why I can't edit it out of the template? Thanks.

Paul

Even worse now, it advised my parents on their return to take college courses. My dad retired over 10 years ago and while my mom still works, she is 70 years old.

Yes that college course will really help her now (rolling my eyes)
