Hello,

I have the same damn issue.. and it seems to be related with Release 2.. reinstalling the product to R1 fixed the problem.. (what about for youabba2do?)

It is happening on both 2010 Enterprise and Premier, screen flickering and mouse unusable. All other QB version and all other apps working just fine. No log in the event viewer. Presentation Server 4.5 - advanced server - Citrix Hotfix 3

 Any idea????

Thanks

David

Have the exact same issue.  It doesn't happen running on the console and it also happens in non-seamless mode so it isn't seamless flags so it is something in video compression or something in 4.5.

I am trying to check on it.

let me know if you find anything and I'll do the same...

Alright Jason, lets keep this topic to troobleshoot this issue, so Intuit could help us.

It happened since you updated QB with R2 right?

i haven't tried to install the really latest Citrix Hotfix which is R4 or R5 but i ll need to update our licence citrix server too (one of the requirements). Have you tried?

Is it happening on all of your Citrix servers Jason?

I was able to correct everything but a log error. I went to the Quickbooks folder on the server and found the security rights were minimal.  Once I changed those, it corrected this issue.  Now I am only stuck with a log error when I start.

I found the solution.  It appears that it is a problem with the Microsoft Windows Presentation Foundation element that must be part of QB 2010 and Enterprise 10 as of the R2 update.  WPF by default wants to use %windir%\system32 as it's file write location but of course users launching Citrix applications do not have write rights to that folder.  So, MS offers a hotfix on the following article that changes the temp location to the user's profile and I have confirmed that it fixed the issue.  I tested the location issue before applying it by simply giving one user write and modify permission to just the system32 folder and launched the app and no more flickering.  Took that advanced permission away and it flickered again.  Hotfix patches it correctly.  Here is the MS Article with the hotfix:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/955692/en-us

I'm glad I found this now as we will have many clients soon having this issue as they upgrade to these versions.

Thanks,
Jason
