The solution
Use customer>enter sales receipts. Make an item called "tithes" and point that item to the income acct. Also, go to help>learning center>customer tutorial and watch it to learn how to enter customer transactions.

Thanks so much for your help. Before asking the question I tried to enter the tithes as a deposit but it wouldn't show a report for each member, but now it does show by enter it as a sales receipt. Thanks again.
