Chase has no .qbo files for export. Is there a work-around?
Chase bank does not have .qbo file for download of credit card transactions. Is there a way to download the transactions other than paying 120$ a year to Chase?

Yes, you may download Chase credit card information, please see above inset which I did to resolve your issue. The download option is available, but you must look at the right hand side of the screen to see download activity to get to the screen above.

If you do not mark the post Solved (if this helped), and click the "thumbs up", (if this resolves your issue), PLEASE post additional information.

Well, JuliaNOTJulie3
I double checked and the DOWNLOAD screen that I get is different than the one you get. And the only options for download seem to be .QFX, .QIF, .CSV. That is it. Maybe Chase is different out here in the sticks of Ohio.
So I am deeply immersed in learing about .iif files and importing .csv files .
Really , the advice about .iif files is pathetic in QuickBooks. I mean really bad. Quickbooks should be ashamed.
Do you have any leads for better advice on the Web?
Thanks for the effort. I will watch for any new posts.

Yes, Julia
There is only one "DOWLOAD" SCREEN that I can find, I did get to it by clicking on the headings on the right. And it does not look like the screen that you were nice enough to insert. I don't know how to take a screen shot of that page for insertion or I would show you. And at the bottom I only have download types of QFX, .QIF, . and CSV.
How do you get a screen shot for use anyway?

Hello Julia
I have been on call and just busy as .......So just getting back in touch.
I am using XP.
But while on call I may have come up with the solution. It may be the TYPE OF CREDIT CARD THAT I HAVE. I have an old "Quicken Card" That came out in the 1990's. With it I could download my credit card transactions into Quicken. Chase bought this card from Travelers. I am guessing that Chase has kept the Quicken download ability but never gave it the QuickBook download capability.
What do you think?
Thanks for all your work.

Dr N.
I believe you may be correct. But, if you have time you may want to call Chase and find out how to convert the card so that you may have QB download. I had an old Quicken credit card which Chase was glad to convert and I retained credit limit and other perks associated with the card. You will then be able to download all of the credit card charges either in IIF or QBO format, which I have just verified.

If the credit card does not download to QuickBooks (looks like your selection is for Quicken), you can purchase 3rd party software to download.
I use www.zacharysystem.com product. It is easy to use and works well. (I have a few ciient's that their bank does not download to Quickbooks only Quicken).
Thanks Lynda
I will check out Zachary System.
But actually I am still quite interested in solving how to use those pesky .iif files. I almost had it before I had to take a week of call at the hospital. Got any good references or even books that talk about using the .iif files. "Running Quickbooks in Nonprofits" is not adequate.
Thanks again
Dr N
You can import and export list items within quickbooks using iif files. But for banking or transactions, you would need a 3rd party software. www.marketplace.intuit.com
